Artificial Sensory Induction Systems Technology or ASIST is a technology that can record, process and feed false sensory input to the brain, resulting in the complete immersion simulation of a specific experience. Developed in 2038 by Dr. Hosato Hikita of the Foresight Institute in Frontier, ASIST has become wildly popular among the entertainment industry because of the full-immersion, simulated-sensory experience, leading to the prevalence of the Simsense medium.

The computer industry has used ASIST technology as a human interface system bridging high-speed, high-information data flow that modern computer systems and networks depend upon and their human operators.
